Some of you may have heard of National Novel Writing Month, which is in November. This fun fest helps light a fire under writers, giving them a community, support, and encouragement to get off their butts and get some writing done. I have used it before to finish a novel (still undergoing rewrites), and it’s an interesting experience.
Well, there’s also a month for those of us who like to write poetry. National Poetry Writing Month encourages people to write a poem a day for 30 days. Any topic, any form, any length – just get creative! I happen to love writing poetry, so this is a wonderful challenge for me.
Due to unexpected fun at the airport (which is a polite way to complain about delayed flights), I arrived late at the hotel last night – well, technically, this morning. So I did not post a poem yesterday, but here’s one for today. (Sorry about the spacing for the poem – just started this and can’t figure out how to change it!)
